25 cal JSB Hades test

I received 25 of the 25 cal hades this evening to test. Went right out to test before it got dark and shot all 25 at 50 yards in a slight breeze (zero was for the jsb kings). I was using an FX Streamline with a smooth twist barrel and an Airmax 6x24x56. The pellet is what looks like a cut up mark 2 heavy, much like the 22 version is a cut up 18grain jsb. Weighs in at 26.54grains. Over the fx crono it was shooting at around 830ftps as opposed to 875ftps with the Kings. In fairness to the pellets a few were a bit damaged in transit, however the attached 5 shot groups aren't too bad and I am sure could be tightened up. The pellets also seemed to rip into the cardboard more than the Kings making the holes seem more ragged. Being a tight scotsman I only had a one pence piece for sizing.

I think jsb are on to a winner with the 25 cal Hades.

I presume we will see them filter through in the next month or so now that testing samples are being sent out. Shame I only had 25 of them to test and quite a few were somewhat beat up in transit but still impressive pellets. At 830ftps they still have a decent trajectory and will no doubt hit hard on live quarry given my experience with the 22 version.

Looks to be minute of squirrel accuracy. Quite acceptable!!!

I wonder when the dealers will obtain a supply?

Uncle Hoot

Hoot, your mind is like mine.. a dime size group on paper is one thing, but a walnut size shape in a tree is what I shoot for🐒.. either way I'm looking forward to getting some, the 18's shoot well out of my Crown and Impact

I did not know they were working at offering the Hades in .25 caliber. Of course accuracy is number one but the design of the Hades is meant for expansion. I would love to see someone do some expansion test comparisons with other HP pellets. The only other accurate pellet for medium to long distances with good expansion is the Polymag. Their main drawback is that they are expensive but mainly they do not fit most magazines. Bill

Matt Dubber did a online chat yesterday live and I asked him a question about the .25 Hades availability without thinking that SA air gunners aren’t allowed.25 caliber air guns but thinking he was closer to the industry than most, he might know. Well in the short of things he didn’t.
Shally on the other hand had an interview with JSB in one of his videos and they are in fact in development.👍
