.25 Bantam 400 or Bantam Sniper .25?

Im fairly new to the PCP world. Recently during the past few weeks bought my first one. Brocock Compatto in .22. A week later had a chance to see the Bantam Sniper and fell in love with it. Thanks to the guys at AoA they swapped the Compatto for the Sniper and paid the difference. In my opinion that was money very well spent as I am 300% happier. Got addicted pretty quick and just bought a Bantam 400 in .25 but I’m not sure if I should have gotten the Sniper again. Same tank on both but the Sniper is regulated and from what I’ve been reading the FPE is higher on the Sniper (35 Bantam vs. 45 on the Sniper) I don’t do competition shooting but I do like long range shots. With my .22 Sniper I was able to hit my target at about 110 yards very successfully. Should I be able to do that with the Bantam 400 or should I break the bank and spend the extra money on the sniper? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How accurate is yours at long distances when using the magazine?

Reason for asking was that I watched Giles AirGunGear Show video review

and he stated it must be single loaded using the tray if you want accuracy.

I also have a Bantam Hi Lite in .22, mine is super accurate with the magazine or tray. I also have an FX Crown that isn't as accurate with the magazine as it is with the tray. The magazine causes fliers. I thought I had the problem fixed but I guess not. It is better though. Brocock magazines are way different by design. I wouldn't think there would be accuracy issues with this type of magazine but we'll see what others have to say. Stoti

I’ve only used the single tray a few times. Less than 20 shots to be honest. And I haven’t noticed a difference. I honestly don’t see where it would make a difference since with the magazine or tray the pellet is already seated in the barrel and pushed by the same bolt pin. But then again I’m a newbie so there’s a big chance I’m incorrect. All I can say is that I shoot my Sniper with the magazine and it is super accurate. It took the fun out of shooting at 25 and 50 yards.

I know this is old but..Buy once cry once meaning I would go with the Sniper but that’s me.

Somewhat dependant upon the magazine style, pellet skirts can get dinged when fed out of a magazine.

So I got my sniper .25 last week. Put a athlon midas tac on it. Cleaned the barrel and sighted it in. I've shot just about 200 pellets through it to condition the barrel. Shooting jsb kings 25.39, have not adjusted the regulator or hammer spring yet. But I have shot both with the mag and tray, accuracy is just a little better past 50 yards with the tray. 

But back to the question of bantam 400 or sniper. I chose the sniper because of the carbon bottle and huma regulator. Both are great guns, it just comes down to what you prefer. Aluminum bottle, no regulator or carbon bottle, regulated.

Thanks for all the great input as usual. The Bantam 400 that I had bought had the Carbon bottle. It was the Hi/lite soft touch. I did end up going back to AoA and as always received top notch service and customer care. Told them I really wanted the sniper and they switched it out for me. I just paid the difference in price. 

Havent shot it yet, dying to get home. But already much happier with the thicker barrel shroud, regulated and rails.

Had a chance to play with the new Sniper in .25. Absolutely love it. Multiple confirmed hits of soft targets at 133 yards using JSB MKII’s. Well worth the extra 500$ .... And then I saw the Commander.

wonder if I can order the commander stock and convert the sniper. ???!

I also would like a Sniper HR, but am holding out for the Commander... can’t go wrong with either choice...
