.25 26gr FX Hybrid in putty

Got bored and tried out some hybrids in plumbers putty from about 13yds from my Impact 600 at 990/125bar/Max spring

Expanded to .50, inside out with a bit of a curl with a small hole in the center. Very violent. Stopped at about 4inches. NEATO

Yeah, they have a huge hollow cavity going down to the base so open up like a cheap hooker

My next act is to check them out at progressively lower velocities but clean up can be a bit discouraging

Any chance you have some scrap carpet or felt you can wrap the putty in? I'd be interested to see how much effect it has on expansion.

Ok, shot thru some high quality carpet with a heavy blue backing @ 950/4 on wheel. Pulled fibers thru with it into the putty. Expanded to about .40 but is a solid slug flattened out. I could tell the hollow point did clog up a bit which reduced expansion. Penetration was about 3in. Pics up top.

Right on!!! Thanks for that! It worked pretty good, especially on a thicker piece of carpet.

I haven't seen a squirrel armored up in carpet but good to know it will make it thru!
