Crosman 2300S….Wow!

While the IZH46M was laid up (fixed now) I was almost forced to become more acquainted with my 2300S.
I purchased it used and added SC grips and a super sear.
I had to replace the valve with one from Dave at Alchemy AirWerksa few months ago.
As much as I enjoy shooting the IZZY, I think the 2300S can (maybe with someone else at the helm) can hold its own any day.
I was at the range yesterday with DUCKFISH enjoying both pistols when I made that discovery.
Today, after billiards at the Senior Center, I shot the 2300S again - a full CO2 standing with 7.9 CPH At one of those AMAZON targets.

yes and with the 1720p trigger group it can be made better
the one thing the 2300s has is a great rear sight the front could be better but it is a Crosman
people need to understand when they see one of these for sale, the rear sight and barrel alone are worth 160.00 or more
the price of LW barrels has skyrocketed
they come with custom site 2 screw trigger group and they can be improved as you have done

Shooting after billiards at the senior center. This makes me smile, I hope I get to stick around long enough to find a place to do that and my body holds up long enough.

Crosman is moving to a zombie brand now with the gamo acquisition unfortunately.... And in my disappointed opinion.

1720, 1701P and the PRod use the trigger group.

Everyone wants cheap. If quality manufacturers raise prices, customers look elsewhere.

okay cheap is one thing but cheap junk is another
what did Gamo do after they bought Daisy, they stopped making the 853 and the 717-747 but why
now the Crosman 2240 is coming out of China oh well we can only watch

I was big into those CO2 pistols a few years ago and made a lot of mods, even building some up from parts. At the hight of theCovid crisis I actually ordered all the parts direct from Crosman and built up some of the 1701p trigger groups before I discoved some on ebay Great trigger for those guns. I also have a couple with the supersear.which I also modified, by polishing the surface that holds the bolt and where it engages the trigger, in which case I used a wide aftermarket with a roller surface that contacts the sear. One gun the supersear is actually better than the fully adjustable 1701p trigger.
One gun I built from scratch is basically a 2300s model, but in .22 cal. In all of my fooling around with them I have lost count. I know I made/modified several for my self and a few for my son and grandson. Most have some of the SC and Vernon Austin grips, like my wood grips.

A few years after all of this I picked up one of the cheap Diana Airbugs. which for the most part I like better. I did get some Carm magazines for repeater properties and one of their flip over single shot adapters. It has one feature which I really like and that is a slot in the tube that holds the CO2 cylinder, so in case the cylinder sticks you can pry it out. I had that happen on a couple of my Crosman pistols, and have decided if it happens again, I will cut such a hole in it. I had to disassemble the guns to get them out, which was no fun.

DUCKFISH and I were shooting our 2300s at the range on Wednesday.
His is custom made by someone in England I think.
.20 caliber with two stage trigger And a red dot.
I use the Williams rear sight.
I would like a 1701P front end with the adjustable blade.
