Here is a couple 25 shot groups and a couple N50 cards. The group in box 19 was at 50y, and the one on the sighter is at 50m. For the one at 50m….my wind holds varied from 2 rings right to well outside the rings. The odd thing about these is that they were shot at 780fps. The gun is very predictable and tracks in the wind just like it should. I can’t actually tell any wind drift difference compared to them at 200fps faster. Pretty interesting to go that hard against the grain and get a good result. This gun is going to a country where the BR50 rules limit them to 35 fpe.

Polygonal or cut rifling?

My cut rifling barrel likes em anywhere from 850-900, as long as it's a good tin 😉. The guys shooting polygonal seem to report best results 950+.

So I'm curious about the type of barrel your groups are from.

I vaguely remember trying them out of a CZ barrel with a tight choke at about the same speed you're reporting (a couple of years ago) and results were poor. Actually I've had a couple other really tightly choked barrels that didn't like the MRDs too, and various speeds.

Interesting, I like to see the accepted norm for pellets to be shot at these extremely high velocities lately reeled back in and put into perspective.

I just purchased a “old fashioned” LW land & groove choked barrel for my .25, believing it will be more accurate and forgiving with lower velocities and greater variation’s of pellets?
Only one barrel to try right now so it’s a crap shoot either way! The two most accurate LW barrels I’ve owned were both land and groove in .177 and .30.

Hoping my neighbor will help machine and fit the new barrel.

It’s a groove type barrel. Its button rifled.

I understand that at that low fps it would need a different twist rate to be accurate.

Further as per my experiments this pellet is good upto 50 yards but when you stretch to 100 yards it needs around 1000 fps.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

The barrel and config (traditional rifling, .22 MRDs @850-890fps) I mentioned above is capable of moa @ 100 yards, but average groups from it @100 are more like 2 inches (which is realistically about the best any pellet is going to AVERAGE at that distance).

My 35fpe Pulsar is very good with MRDs running at 780fps. Clover leafing at 40 yards, which is where I normally zero.

Try these pellets at 100 yards and advise at what fps these give best groups.

Not interested. My airgun is only used for back yard pesting, shooting to about 60 yards, max.

For land based vermin over 60 yards I shoot 17 Fireball at 3,700fps. Safe back stop permitting.
