.22 Prod Marmot Militia Barrel

My .22 prod has a 4-12x50 hawke scope, TP drill out to match the valve and barrel, has a regulator from Nick at Air Superiority, and now a match grade barrel from Marmot Militia. My prod shot great when I installed the regulator and this was what I was getting:

4 shoot group at 20 yards with the 18.13 grain JSB

Now this is what I just got with the new barrel:
8 shot groups at 20 yards with the 18.13 JSB

I'm just blown away with this barrel. Night and Day difference. If you are looking to upgrading your gun, try a match grade aftermarket barrel. I'm going to run the prod over the chrony tomorrow afternoon to fine tune and then stretch the gun to 50 yards to see how it does. With the stock barrel, I would only shoot out to 30 yards if their was a slight breeze and maybe shoot out to 35 if I had no wind.

Yes, Jim Gaska got it right with the groove, lands, and twist rate after several tries. They were designed around the JSB pellets. Also you should know that Jim tests them all on his guns and if they do not shoot to his high standards he will not ship them until they do. I have 3 of Jim's barrels. First is a 12 in. on a p-rod I built for my girlfriend. the second is a 24 in. on my p-rod Airzilla and the last one is a custom 32 in. on a .22 marauder. All of them shoot lights out. You will have to clean the more often and possibly lightly lube your pellets as they lead up quicker. They are well worth the price as they are fitted one and a time and tested, not a mass produced factory barrel that has never been tested until you get it.

20 yard in sight is pretty much one pellet hole and the same for 30 and 35 yards so I'm not going to add a picture of a pellet hole. This is a 40 yard 5 shot group:

50 yards the shot group opens up to 2 inches but this will be a 20 yard gun and I'm comfortable to shoot it out to 40 yards. I won't be shooting anything past 40 yards with this gun until I get more comfortable with it. I don't think the regulator is settled in yet and the marmot barrel is broken in yet.
