.22 Pellet Testing in Bantam HR

Since shooting Brocock Bantam HR Sniper for almost one week and becoming more familiar with this rifles new features like being able to adjust regulator pressure and hammer tension. This rifle allows you to pick a pellet and dial in what velocity the pellet shoots the most accurate. I noticed that this rifle does not shoot JSB Exacts at velocities over 900 FPS consistently, I’ll get some nice groups then will get too many flyers. On the other hand the gun likes shooting Crosman Premier 14.3 gr pellets at higher velocities. CP’s flew over my Crony at 950 FPS and these pellets shoot dime sized groups at 50 yards consistently. I can feel the CP’s bolt up tighter in the bore. I want to test some other .22 pellets and see what kind of groups I get. I own a FX Crown and only issue with FX rifles is most only like JSB pellets, LW barrels seem more flexible and shoot a wider range of pellets accurately.

After testing several different pellets through Sniper at different velocities I settled on using 14.3gr Crosman Premier pellets shooting just over 900 FPS. Pellets are accurate, don’t get any flyers, inexpensive and at this setting I am getting well over 100 shots from a 240 bar fill. I do a lot of paper punching with the Sniper ind this is a good overall choice.
