.22 OR .25

With the adjustments on the Avenger, it really doesn't make a lot of difference to most shooters. Accuracy is pretty much the same in both calibers...depending on whose's shooting.

However, if you need knockdown power, and want to go the limit on fpe, then I'd suggest the .25 with slugs or heavy pellets. Depends on where you live, larger game in some states.

If you shoot occasionally, then the .22 will still give you plenty of punch and accuracy, is a tiny bit cheaper to operate, with a higher shot count per fill.

I favor the.25 myself.

I’ve had several of both. My best shooter right now is an impact II shooting JSB knock out slugs (217) at about 940 FPS thru the superior liner. Last year I played with the 25 cal but never got the consistency I was looking for. I’m not suggesting that a 25 can’t do as well but for my shooting 25 and 30 cal hold no advantage to me. If I have to go harder I have a 22 rim fire with a silencer.
i am expecting a gun back hopefully today or tomorrow. I had Alan Z rebarrel my RAW 1000. I used an FX superior liner which I provided and he made a barrel using that liner . Also made a moderator for me. He has that gun shooting the JSP knock outs at about the same velocity. He said it’s really doing well. My goal was to get the same results from a rifle as from the impact. Just not crazy about bull pup guns for my use. When I get the gun I’ll post a review. One thing I will say is that Alan is a prince of a fellow to deal with.
