.22 FX Crown MK2 arrived today

Hi All,

Received my new MK2 FX Crown today in .22.

600mm Superior liner and from the factory shoots the 25.4 Redesigned at 975 on max (on power 4 is shooting them at 900 and is an absolute laser)....

Reg is set at 135ish bar and internal hammer adjustment is a long way from being maxed out so tons of room to increase power for heavier slugs etc.

From the outside only noticable change is the front power wheel is now high, medium and low where as before was .30,.25 and .22,.177 followed by low....

Power is markedly increased where as my .22 Continuum to get the same power I am getting now with the 25.4 I would be up to 150 bar on the reg with the hammer spring maxed out with the 700mm barrel and would still be under the power level the MK2 is generating stock with a 600mm barrel....

Very pleased!

Stock is going to be off to DreamWeaver for a custom dip and a Kraford & Lypt butt stock installed and she is all set!

Very nice indeed Mike. I love my Continuum Gen , but must confess to being tempted by the Gen 2s. The 600mm barrel is also just a bit more convenient than the 700mm.

While you are having your new stock dipped, any chance that the Mk II action could 'go out and see the world' wrapped up in its brother's bumblebee stock???

Congratulations indeed!

Whats interesting is, my MKII showed up Monday from FX USA and is “only” shooting the 18.1g at 910 FPS on MAX with the 500mm barrel. That’s right out of the box, with the reg at 125 bar.

Would the 100mm difference in barrel length account for a 20 ft/lb difference in muzzle energy?

Hi Garry_S,

It would make some difference but my reg is also set 10 bar higher than yours as well and I imagine the hammer spring is also adjusted to match the extra 10 bar in regulator pressure so the combination of all the above should get you close to where mine is set...

Looks like FX delivered on their improvements in the Crown, nice gun! Please post pics of the hydro dipped stock when you get it back. A few questions if you don’t mind: Not sure if you do any offhand shooting, but if so does it feel balanced with the 600 barrel? What does it weigh with the scope you have mounted? Does it come with their new superior barrels? Thanks

I think that the new MKll Crowns come with a Superior liner unless you order one with the Superlight STX barrel.

Hi Aimright,

Yes, it comes with the Superior liner (all Crowns come with the Superlight barrel but not all Superlight barrels come with Superior liners).....

It is very well balanced with the 600mm barrel in my opinion, a bit long with the moderator I added for woods walking but not terrible by any means...

Will get a weight when I can....

That is one big reason I bought it....If I can get the 380 barrel shooting in the 900's for the 23 grain slugs or 25.4 Redesigned should be a nice compact hunter..

As good as this one is shooting now with the 600mm barrel I am not going to touch it for awhile at least!!
