.22 Evol Mini

Put the Mini through some testing. It’s a fine little PCP. Like all AAA builds, it’s very tough and ready for anything that’s thrown at it. Being so small it’s very light (5.6 lbs w/no scope & 32” length). As robust as it is, it’s got a top shelf trigger; 2-stage that breaks at 10 ounces. It’s adjustable should you want to change it.

I checked a few power levels with it. Here’s 29 FPE:

Very impressed with the regulator. The Mini has a 10” barrel and only a 135cc reservoir 😳 That’s some dynamite 🧨 performance from the little fella! Here is an 11 shot - full mag group from 40 yards:

I'm getting similar results with my Evol Mini 22 with just HST and reg adjustments. As far as accuracy goes, I think it favors JSB 15.89gr. JSB Express 14.35gr and the new H&N Barracuda 18 also does well. I need to do more accuracy testing in calm conditions. Right now, mine is set up for 18.13gr at around 840 fps. I need to retune and see if accuracy improves at around 880-900 fps with the 18.13gr. The Evol Mini fits perfect in a Condor 28 inch case with the moderator removed and my Luth-AR MBA-3 stock collapsed.

👍🏼

Early testing on the first prototypes we were shooting eggs out to 150 no problem, those that complain about the availability fail to realize these are not crapped out mass produced guns but essentially semi custom. As far as the price goes, you get what you pay for and that includes the magazines....want plastic, buy CARM. Last I saw CARM was making .25 caliber mags for the EVOL when a .25 caliber gun doesn't even exist. lol

Yup, great rifle. I added a folder to the stock for even more portability. I also went with a 1 to 10 power scope. My only complaint is the price/availability of spare magazines.

AoA keeps a good inventory of magazines. Your location may make getting them more difficult. There is not much we can do about the cost, quantities do not warrant investing in injection molding tooling and I'm not sure that even the best ballistic polymers will perform as well as our hard anodized machined aluminum mags.

No trouble zeroing the scope with the built in 50 moa of scope rail? They act like people will be doing super long distance shots with this little rig.

The 40 MOA may be a bit more than needed for short ranges but it still offers advantages and most scopes on the market will have no trouble adjusting at shorter ranges.

I have had only two reports of scope adjustment issues and they were both the same make and model. Vortex Viper PST.

A 18gn pellet at 860 fps drops approximately 8" at 50y and 35" at 100y. Add a conservative 2" for scope to barrel distance and you have 10" and 37" of drop which equates to 19MOA/5.5MIL and 35MOA/10MIL. As you can see the scope is pretty much centered at 100y and only 19MOA below center at 50y.

The below centerline to centerline adjustment allows dialing to longer distances by utilizing more of the scopes useful adjustment range.

I will say, if you want to zero an EVOL at 10 yards, you may need or wish to use MOA rings in reverse although most precision scopes will have the necessary range.
