22 Gladius short with 14.3 grain Crosman Piranha

The gun with me shooting it is not tack driver but at the #4 and #5 power settings it was not even close to making a group.

When I turned the power down to #3 at about 130 bar it settled down some to at least hit in the same area

I shot a charge from 190 bar down at the #3 setting and it did better (if you can say that) after the power for lower.

I’ve read some horror stories about the Piranha but they were cheap so I figured I’d give them a try. Only shooting 30 yards.

The target is a homemade splatter burst. I usually use some thicker paper board but was glad to find some thinner paper worked fine. The bad news is the stick on dots came off but the black paint came off with it leaving a good aiming point. 

The first shot went way low left as I had the power on the S510 turned way down. 
At 190 bar the other nine did a lot better than what I was expecting, with most hitting the center dot. 


i shot some more groups and things didn’t go as well as I shot down to 110 bar.

I haven't shot the .177's; but the 22's do not shoot as well as the HP's for me which are almost 50% cheaper at WM.

You be amazed because I tried it and best notable finding held sub one inch consistently at 50 yards shooting from an old 177 AZ Daystate CR97. Shooting Beeman (H&N) Ram Jets bad lot that were typically the best accurate food providing good lot batch did 2 inches at 50 the normal way and sub one inch backwards.

I also have a Mac1 Steroid 1322 that shots great with the junk Crosman Destroyers backwards better than the normal way at 25 to 30 yards and whack birds with it that way for between that distance.

That implication sorta what many early on naysayers said about the Alpha6 and Barra and double loading 2 pellet trick and yellow gas line Teflon tape trick on the not perfect wobbly Donny threads and yanking his power adjuster to get it back to normal and rubber mallet and just shoot the hell out it to fix itself and Alphabet org stop leak quick fix trick see what happened.

The Piranhas come in tins of 400 and are more expensive than the Primier hollow points that come in tins of 500 at my local Walmart. I did try the .22 caliber Piranhas once in my HW95 and they were ok but the Primier Hollow points shot better. After testing I shot off the rest of them in a pistol.

Concur ..... All Over the place in every gun tried. There earlier attempt with the Destroyer or Destroyer EX was only slightly better.

IMO all 3 of these are near Point Blank range pellets lacking any degree of dependable accuracy for work much past 20 yards

Someone recently suggested shooting junk pellets loaded backwards and they shot better when I tried that nutty experiment.

Has been my experience and I am done trying,the CPH and especially the domes shoot pretty good, it’s all I let the youngsters shoot

I wonder what they would do backwards as suggested in the other piranha thread - not sure of the range you're shooting or how your Gladius groups with other pellets?

They shoot better backwards in my MAC1 rebarrelled Steroid 1322. So does the reject Crosman 22 Destroyers.
