.22 cal slug vs .25 cal slug

I went pdogg'n today. It was almost dead calm, I almost can't believe it !

The .218 H&N Heavy 34gr slug was spot on, a little credit to the guy behind the rifle.

I purchased some of them too to try out for accuracy. I’m playing with the airmarksman slug and they don’t seem to be opening. I bought some 33 grains today. I will see how they do. I’m shocked that guys were able to get the tune at a much lower reg pressure than I am

I currently have 2 DRS rifles a 25 700 and a 22 700, they both have slug power kits, carbon fiber barrel sleeves installed on the slug liners, they are equally accurate.
The 25 caliber will easily shoot a 40gr H&N 980fps with the reg @155bar , my 22 only shoots a 40gr H&N 950fps with the reg @170bar.

That's why I shoot the .218 34gr at 985fps with the reg @162bar.

Your Impact should easily do that as mentioned previously.

According to Stelok that is 73ftlbs at the muzzle and retains 55ftlbs at 100 yards

I find it interesting the .25 cal has a lower bar setting than the ,22 cal but shooting similar speeds

I meant to respond saying 30 cal pellet gun. From me reading and understanding first tune for velocity and then tune based upon accuracy and precision. currently im at 930 fps 150 bar 14 on my power wheel. I will continue to tune and work up to 950 fps then tune for accuracy.

Those slugs look great wonder what size I need. I dont mind the airmarksman slug but utah is slow at shipping and fedex is horrible in my area
The airmarksman and the 40grs of these are near identical. Both Corbin die swaged slugs. You need the 1:16 barrel to stabilize any of these.1:14 even better (if you can find one)

Ya need to find a good harmon
H&N should rename the to the DRT slug because almost every pdog tipped off the back side of there hole!
Big fan of hp and hp2. They do exactly as the label.says. hn makes great slugs.

im starting to like NSA a lot more. I just did a light tune. Shooting nsa 217 20.2 at 990[min] and 1035-1041 [PW:1] getting over 90 shots andgrouping like this.

I don't extract the slug, as I don't have a sharp enough knife on hand to break the skull, then I'd have blood all over me, and I am still a long ways from home, so I don't go through the trouble, I don't believe that there is a big chance of lead poisoning, as they are headshots and ghogs have hard skulls.

I should have wrote number down. I’m not sure why I got a low 937 and a high 971 get rid of those and the extreme spread is down to 10 fps . Didn’t shoot for groups like I should have that’s my fault. Will pay attention next time and write this stuff down

Currently 16 on macro
4 on micro
165 bar on reg setting

700mm 1:16 liner is what I have installed

I’m thinking about going to a light slug. My thought are a few feet a second and easier tuning. Seem like the FX hybrid fly well out of all barrels and theNSA lighter slugs do well.

What hammer is in your gun?

Get the brass hammer kit from C88 . There will be weights with it. Switch back to OEM hammer spring. And start stacking weights on the new hammer.

My gun, the MINIMUM i can shoot is 44.6fpe. Minimum. Even at 90b. It annoys me. It's fun shooting very high power. But refilling every mag sucks.
