Been playing with numbers for an impact. Kind of wish UA didn’t talk me into a 22 cal. I’ve owned a .25 cal marauder 50 fpe w/ 33.95 grain JSB pellets. Wanting to try the 33.95 slugs from JSB in .25 cal or should I still with what I have?
Just order a .25 cal. barrel, probe bolt and magazine.
I have a probe. I’m trying to understand what else do I need
I've got my 22 impact at 75 fpe in 22. If you use the pin probe already you put the 25 sleeve on it and I was under the impression it's a liner and mag swap to get where you want if your mod can handle 25. I never did enough research to see if the liner gets thinner and still fits in the barrel tube or if the barrel tube gets a larger id for a 25 liner mandating a barrel kit. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.Been playing with numbers for an impact. Kind of wish UA didn’t talk me into a 22 cal. I’ve owned a .25 cal marauder 50 fpe w/ 33.95 grain JSB pellets. Does your Impact have a slug liner ?Been playing with numbers for an impact. Kind of wish UA didn’t talk me into a 22 cal. I’ve owned a .25 cal marauder 50 fpe w/ 33.95 grain JSB pellets. Wanting to try the 33.95 slugs from JSB in .25 cal or should I still with what I have?
I have slug liner and slug power kit. I’m sitting t 16 on my macro wheel 5 on my micro wheel. 145 bar on my reg. 850 fps right now. I plan to see if I can get up to 950-1000 fps. I just wished I’d bought a 25 cal. Just found a place to shoot a few ground hogs at a farmDoes your Impact have a slug liner ?
Maybe try some. 218 34gr H&N Heavy slugs.
Your Impact should easily shoot those 1000+fps
At 150 bar with a tungsten hammer weight I can confirm that it does.Does your Impact have a slug liner ?

If I have difficulties tuning I’m going to order a 30 cal liner and go back to shoot pelletsI have a .25 shooting slugs 1,030fps and a .22 shooting slugs 955fps. I have to shoot groundhogs the exact same way with both guns or I don’t recover them. “Knock down power” begins to start with an airgun at .30 caliber unless you’re shooting pip squeak critters.
Yeah I’m definitely going 700mm. I’m trying to see if I want to mess with a 800mmIf you switch to .25, skip the 500mm. The window is too small. Even with a 600mm, getting the results the guys with 700mm barrels were getting with 40+ grain slugs was an uphill climb. Barrel length gives you more room to play around with weights and speeds.
I'm 700mm and it comes with its own new problems, as I read they're even more pronounced on the 800. I did achieve 1050 with 34s and could send anything lower weight supersonic. I detuned into the 900s because even the 34s were ocassionally cracking and losing their precision thanks to a weather change.Yeah I’m definitely going 700mm. I’m trying to see if I want to mess with a 800mm
The tuning of the 25 is slightly less finicky I think due to the bore size not requiring as much pressure. It was easier for my to get my buddies 500mm 25 to a specific power level than it was for my 22 700mm.... Then again it's mine and I'm holding myself to better standards.H&N also makes 36, 38 and 40 grain .218 heavy slugs.
A 40gr slug from a 22 or 25 caliber going the same speed will have the same ftlbs of energy.

Like 6gun said, as that wet noodle barrel system gets longer, you have new things you have to address. If you need more than 700mm, maybe just consider grabbing a trusty .22lr.Yeah I’m definitely going 700mm. I’m trying to see if I want to mess with a 800mm
