Tuning .22 AA Pro Sport RePower Project Complete

I have a beautiful AA Pro Sport that I purchased used from an AGN member a couple of years ago. Tuned by the previous owner with a Maccari Spring Kit, it was producing about 12.5 FPE with the AA 16 Gr pellet. The trigger was very light - almost uncontrollable, but I had tolerated it. It shot pretty accurately, but I thought it would benefit from some TLC.

I ordered from Tom a new Vortek PG3-Steel HO kit. This is the fourth one of these I have installed in a TX or Pro Sport, finding all of them to be too long, not allowing the rifle to lock up comfortably, if at all. So on the first try, I cut off 1/2 coil and installed the new spring kit with the new Vortek piston seal. While the rifle would lock-up, it took nearly all of the force I had to lock it up near the end of the cocking stroke. I shot several shots with the rifle in this condition, allowing me to adjust the trigger to near perfect, before tearing it back down. This time, I took off another 3/4 coil.

The rifle now locks up absolutely perfectly. Lubricated with Air Venturi's Tune-in-a-tube, the action is incredibly smooth. The shot cycle is as smooth as one can get, and the accuracy definitely improved. I tried seven different pellets to determine the one this rifle favors most. It shouldn't have been a surprise, as I have one TX200 and a Weihrauch 95 that strongly prefer the Predator GTO pellet, as did this one.

See the attached.
