22.5 VK expansion question

Has anyone tested the hollow point expansion on the Varmint Knocker 22.5gr. I shot a couple pigeons at about 40 yards 944 FPS at the muzzle and they didn’t drop on the shot. The pigeons flew 30-50 yards before expiring.

Got me curious so did a backyard test shooting it through a 1 liter bottle. The slug went straight through about a foot of water without stopping.

I curious did you shoot the water bottle's cap first , this may of collapsed

the hollow point so it would not open . Water bottles are not great for

testing with and if you shot it point blank range well its probably going

strait through ever time . Play Doe and molding clay are better for testing with .

I shoot ballistics gell the 20% kind and the slug goes 4 inches into it .

I shot a squirrel with the VK 22.5 near the bottom of the front shoulder and the slug stopped under the skin behind the opposite shoulder near it's back, making a big pulsing knot on it's back for a few seconds. Velocity was 1040 and range about 6 feet, I had to aim down the side of the barrel. The squirrel was above me and pointed down the tree. It fell right in front of me and never twitched.

I shot another one broadside through the neck with a VK24 about a week ago. Velocity was 970 and range about 25 feet. Passed through but made a good hole out the far side.
