.217 NSA Slugs with FX Slug Liner A?

If im not mistaken thats what theyre designed around.

Yes, and that is exactly what I was led to believe - BUT.. I saw somewhere on the NSA site in red lettering, that customers were saying they were getting better results with .218 than .217!

I need to reach out to them somehow and hopefully get some questions answered.

Sorry I can't help but I'm ready for when it shows up!

Talking with Nick two weeks ago, the 19gr slug is only available in .217

The 21gr slug is .217 but can be made to .218 (in my pic I have them in both sizes).

The 23gr (and heavier) can be made to .218 without issue. (in my pic I have them in both sizes).

From what I understand, those who had accuracy issues with .217 diameter saw an improvement going to .218

This sort of makes sense. I have the 600mm slug A liner, and only .217mm NSA slugs. The lighter slugs are often unstable in my liner, so I wonder if I have one of the liners that prefers .218. It would also explain why I've had such bad results with the lighter slugs, compared to others posting such good results. Maybe time for another NSA order.

Thanks,,

Rusty

Check also ratsniper slugs, if I am correct they build it to match pellet weight, so no need to power kits to achieve 950+- speeds, and specially for impact

Yes! Thank you, I totally forgot about those. Someone here had made a recommendation to try them :)

When exactly did you get your slug liner?

Might check with Nick on that. When I talked with him, he said it was questionable as to if the 21gr slug could be sized to .218

When I asked for those, he said he would try but they may only be able to reach .2175

If I remember correctly, the 19gr was not possible or practicable to make in .218 due to being so short.

I was wonder about that! thanks Bob! I will make some tests

I got mine early, maybe August 2018. It was in the first batch that AOA received.

I ordered a sample pack of .218 NSA slugs, so I'll do some comparisons between .217 and .218. It will be annoying if it turns out to want .218, since I bought a custom Lee sizing die that's .217.
