2024 the year of imitation

So you have the EVOL/Epic situation. FX DRS classic with Snowpeak M30 and Remington Vought. Notos and Jet. Now Hatsan has made a copy of the Airmaks Katran. This was the only way I found it on the UK forum.

How is this going to play out? Hatsan looks to have cloned the katran 🤔. I might have to get one...

I'd heard some rumours a few weeks back about hatsan appearing to have cloned the katran action. This just popped up on FB. I mean it certainly looks to be incredibly similar.. I think I might need to get one and put them head to head.. Is it a clone or a licensed product?

I know imitation is the highest form of flattery but it seems they just aren't trying anymore. I know there are only so many ways to put an air reservoir, barrel and valve together.

They’ve been making these things for over a century and there are only so many ways to accomplish the same goal. I’m told they are using batteries now.

I remember thinking the same thing when daystate came out with the delta wolf comparing it with the impact but as Rick above said, they are using batterys now.

HATSAN is based in turkey, and like China they dont have any laws against copying other products, and the same goes to their pressure testings and trust me they dont test anything, even their shotguns do not have test stamps. they are €100 dangerous riffles and consumer is their test dummy

As long as the company doing the copying doesn't say that the design they copied is their own design like has been done to over and over this year....

I just think it's funny when the Ghost dropped and FX was very quick to have lawyers write letters about the power wheel by saying that was their baby and BRK needed to change it. Then we have the DRS. Yes it will be an upgrade to the Snowpeak and Remington and now Barra has one but I don't know who will cry foul first.
