Remarks:
We were concerned about the weather on the match day. Thankfully the rain did not start until everyone left Rockville homeward bound. The day started a little cold but gradually became comfortably cool. We had little to no wind.

As expected, we had one person who almost shot a perfect score. Brian shot another impressive 59 score – his third 59 score this year. I setup the course with only 5 reducers and the rest were full sized kill zones with an average distance of 39.5 yards. Excellent shooting Brian! Chas was not far behind with a score of 54.
In WFTF Piston, Matt B scored an impressive 52 despite struggling in the beginning to finish strong.
In Hunter Piston, Roel edged out Greg by a point with a score of 46. Eli was not far behind Greg with a single point.
In Hunter PCP, Bill D solidly led the field with a score of 49. We did not realize there was a tie for 2nd and 3rd place. Geoffrey and Matt Sq shot a score of 46. We did not have time after the banquet to hold a shoot off since we took down the course. We used Ihe standing and kneeling lanes as tie breakers to settle 2nd and 3rd place. Geoff was then awarded 2nd place and Matt Sq 3rd place. Good shooting to both.

We had a standing only 75-yard bonus shot with three shots per person. At the end of the match, two shooters stood above the rest by hitting the 2” paddle two out of three shots. A handful of shooters were able to knock it down once out of three chances. Bill D and Jim W were tied with 2 hits each. When a shoot off was planned, both decided to just split the $25 pot. Well done Bill (PCP rifle) & Jim (Piston rifle).

We had everyone eat lunch with a buffet consisting of rotisserie chicken, potato salad, beans, salad, appetizers, brownies & cupcakes. People were able to take home the extra food after the banquet.

After handing out the awards, we then turned to giving away the Pyramyd Air gift cards.
Here are the winners of the gift cards,
$10 – Bernie D, Karen R, Matt Sq, $20 – Pete S, $50 - Jay O

We had the largest attendance to finish off the 2022 season. We were happy to welcome shooters from as far away as Virginia, Maine, Upstate NY, Long Island and nearby Massachusetts.

We thank everyone who helped us set up the new course, especially Bill M, Cindy M, Pete R, Jim H and many others I cannot remember for making this event possible.

Next match: Some time in December stay tuned

Great shoot Leo, and awesome hospitality. So refreshing to see a relatively new club with so much passion. The course was well laid out and challenging. Rockville, will be seeing more of me in the future and you match reports are up there with our cousin Greg S. BCSA. Two Awesome venues that I highly recommend.

Thanks to Leo and crew for a great time and a great match! Pat and I made our first trip to Rockville.......and it won't be our last.

We arrived on Saturday and offered to lend a hand if needed...........Nope, the Rockville crew had things well under control!! We met some of the members that helped make this new course and all club airgun activities at Rockville a reality. Leo took us for a walk around the grounds to see the other course that is used for monthly matches as well as other areas where field target may be expanded in the future! See many BIG things to come at Rockville. To round out the day, we then spent time chatting with Cindy, Bill and Pete about all kinda things! It was like we all knew each other forever.......Airgunners are the best!

Match day was run like a well oiled machine.................from sign in, to the match, to the cleanup, to the dinner, to the awards to the goodbyes! Everything ran smoothly! Thanks to all for a fantastic fall day in Connecticut!!

You'll see big things happening at Rockville........make sure you make time to attend a match or 2 there.....we will!!

Greg and Pat

Great new course. I really liked shooting it. Looking forward to the GP next year.

I want to publicly give a big thanks to Leo. Leo puts a TON of time into supporting Fielt Target. Not just at this club, but also encouraging and showing up for other clubs as well. Thank you Leo for all the work you do to promote this most excellent sport.

Chas

That was a great match, Leo. I'm so impressed by the participation, organization, professionalism and high quality associated with the shoots you've been able to develop in CT these past few years. Amazing work! It was a blast to try out the new course, which we all were impressed to see was manicured and prepared so well by you and all the airgun crew at Rockville. The food following the shoot was really tasty, and the club kitchen staff were efficient and friendly. The prizes and raffle items added to the fun. A top-level event. Great shooting by the way! - it was as always a pleasure to spend the day with you.

Matt B.
