Ruger 2013 Ruger Air Hawk Elite

11 years old, last 3 in storage. I’d like to find out the best ways to service it prior to shooting, short of taking it to a gunsmith (but of course that is an option; there is an air gun capable gunsmith nearby). I have searched YT videos to no avail. One of my specific questions is where to apply silicone chamber oil. I also know I will have to perform a thorough barrel cleaning prior to shooting due to expected degradation of its surface while stored. Thanks in advance.

It might just be a Chinese clone of the rws 34. Umarex makes the gun and also owns rws/diana. The safety, sights, and trigger all look similar to the rws 34. I would suggest to remove the stock and try and find pictures of an rws action and maybe go from there. If it is a clone then there will be videos on YouTube that will help you through the process.

Mine is definitely a springer.
better news, rws 34 parts should work for you.
I must have thought about the "Elite 2"
Chamber oil has mixed opinions. i don't use it personally.Bring the breech seal o-ring to a hardware store and find a similar size.usually sitting closed for extended time will flatten it.
then go shoot it.

In the description it says it’s an rws clone. Vortek also sells replacement piston seals. I would say you could probably just shoot the gun. Maybe do a tissue test to make sure the breech seal is ok. The silicone chamber lube is not needed in modern air rifles. Clean the barrel if you want but it’s probably not necessary unless you oiled the bore before storage. Sounds like the older Ruger airhawkes are probably pretty sweet rifles.

Thank you! Which is the breech seal, please? Is it the o-ring that is exposed when you break the barrel and into which you place the pellet?

Thank you! Yes, this was my first air rifle and because of that I'm kind of attached to it. I'll probably one day soon use Tune-In-A-Tube simply because I remember it makes quite a twang when fired. Spring might need some of that grease. I have a bunch of air pistols (mostly CO2, but a couple like the Beeman P-17 and the Diana P five (break barrel)) which are shooting just fine after 3 years in storage. Glad to hear about not needing silicone chamber oil. I've had an unopened tube since 2013! Guess it'll stay unopened. I took it to a local gunsmith a few weeks ago who also repairs air rifles, and he looked it over and said it was in good shape despite the 3 years' storage. We didn't shoot it at his place, he just looked, but I figured his experienced eye ought to know. I joined a nice gun club here and will be taking it and my other air rifles (and my .22 rimfire and semiauto shotgun) there once the weather improves. Nice thing is they welcome air rifles and pistols just like firearms (it's all outdoors, with a lot of skeet, trap and sporting clays ranges. I shot skeet a number of years ago and hope to resume there this spring and summer). I can also do some archery there as well, and I only shot a (recurve) bow for the first time last week! Thanks again.
