2 piece hw98 barrel

I noticed TMH’s site he bought a HW98 and the barrel is 1 piece.

Mine is 2, it’s not a silencer. No idea of purpose it is. Fun easy break barrel I haven’t shot a tin through it yet but I noticed it loosens frequently. Can I blue locktite it?

I believe that all of the HW98's come with a 'threaded sleeve' on the end of their barrel, to facilitate cocking the gun (longer cocking arm = better leverage). Weihrauch also sells a moderator which can be threaded on in place of the sleeve for a quieter shooting experience (and the same long lever arm for cocking).

It might be that the photo I put in my post doesn't show the threaded sleeve all that well.

Blue loctite should be fine to use if you are having issues with your sleeve. Will allow later removal of the sleeve without too much issue if you want to put on a moderator.

Nope. Seen this brought up on several forums and the threaded barrel end and screw on sleeve is a new addition to them should you want to add a moderator. They started showing up along with the new style stocks that are starting to show up on at least the 30 and 50. The older 98's were just a full sleeved barrel. 

Here's that new style stock on a pic borrowed from AoA. Notice the up curve on the bottom of the butt. Also seen several mention the new HW30's are starting to come with that same style stock.

My Webleys (Tomahawk and Stingray) both have an o ring in there to keep the threads from coming loose. You just hand tighten and it stays.

I wish I had a 98. Maybe sometime. Why not?

I've seen that stock above on 95's too. I'm not a fan. Looks Gamo to me. Or Spanish. Go back to a Monte Carlo would please my taste. 

My 95L stock is like my Santa Rosa R9. That's my cup of tea.

I prefer the old style stock too. If something ain't broke I wish they would not try to fix it.
