2 dead coons

i was on the farm tonight helping with a coon problem .... u can see the first coon come out of a hole in the wall and the sec coon coons out and it just looking at the dead coon so i take the shoot... bulldog with a poly mag going about 1050fps ... lights out!!!!

The first one seems like a heart lung shot and it Nails him pretty well. But he still did the death dance as if it was hit in the head. The 357 Bulldog seem to do a real job on them. I doubt if I can do the same thing with only a 25 caliber through the lungs. It would probably walk off for a while before dying.

That first shot was nuts. I guess you could make a raccoon do the death dance if you shot him in the front chest with a 81 grain polymag going over 1000 fps.

I don't know how the scope of the adjusted but the crosshairs the second shot looked a little low. However with the power of the Bulldog it didn't matter it was lights out instantly.

Ya my bull dog is far from stock..lol.. I can get 300fpe out of it.. the second was a little low but I didn't see that till I watched the video. I has standing on a small ladder/stool looking at different spot for a second and when I turned around he was there staring at the dead one... So I had to turn around and set down shoot before he ran off... Fun night happy farmer

When coon season comes around again I'm going to try calling them out myself, it looks like a lot of fun to me. I won't be using a .357 to hunt them though, it will be a NOE 217-30-FN hp BBT which I've had excellent luck with for shooting coons.
