1st Post, New Here

This place is horrible!!!! All of these goons will suggest new guns and things you really don't need........ .RUN ..... RUN FAST FROM THIS SITE!!

Now that the warning is out of the way :D

There are many options out there for that range. The classifieds are a great place to typically find some great deals. Do you have access to a pump or a compressor for your air use? A hunting rifle will typically use more air due to pushing a higher weight pellet or slugs, and you are going to end up shooting it much more.

I know a little out of your range... but if you could find a used EdGun they are built like tanks and don't seem to fail easily. Another option would be one of the brocock line of rifles. They are extremely robust and great shooters.

Thanks, much for me to learn with air gunning. I do have a hand pump currently but will eventually pick up a compressor.

Oh there ya go, the OTHER giant can of worms on AGN.

Set a SOLID price you are willing to pay. Compressors like guns run the gamut from $120 cheapo to $4,000+ scba compressors.
Autostop is a really good feature.

Filling just the bottle on you gun the $450 GX compressors are the usual advice. Although the $200 Yong Heng are reliable, noisier and faster.

Filling tanks the $450 Tuxing Dual cylinder at the low end and SCBA compressors at the high end.

I suggest looking at the Umarex Notos. It ticks a lot of boxes and has quite a few fans here at AGN. This would get you down the rabbit hole and keep you under $1000.

A good hand pump or small compressor can be used to fill the Notos, same as the Jet.

The BRK line also has some nice carbines but they get pricey very quickly.

.22 caliber is the way to go. .22 is probably the most common caliber for airguns. Weights go from 11 grains all the way 34 grains.

I recommend purchasing good pellets, JSB / AA / FX are all made in the same factory. Find the magic pellet and then stock up on them.

Youtube is your friend, watch some videos before you make any purchases!

Have fun!
.22 in 40g now

I second the Tuxing twin available at Wally world with a protection plan , and use Seco lube 500 compressor oil.
Model TXED012. If you want to learn about the the best top notch airguns look up " The $2000 Dollar Gun " It's very informative , and a good read. OV

I’ve seen the Notos all over YouTube, seems like people rave about it. Is Umarex a reputable product? My only experience with them was with an old co2 pistol. Only thing I’m hung up with regarding the Notos is if I can run my moderator without a bunch of tinkering. BRK is new to
Me, I’ll look that up. Thanks for the suggestion!

Notos is good.
Niksan Elf bullpup.
Barra 250z (bit long for your requirements)
Reximex Throne 2
Snowpeak p35x
AEA Challenger Bullpup
Air Venturi Avenge-X Bullpup

The Avenge-X is the one that hits all your requirements
The Avenge-X keeps popping up as I research. Looks like a great package. I almost pulled the trigger on an Avenger Bullpup II on flea bay.

More than a few around the bay area and SacaDemento area.

Diablo Rod and Gun in Concord area is one of the more Air Gun friendly ranges. Wed morning air gun only and Sunday silhouette (i think) shoots.
I’m on the border of Central and Southern. I get around though. I spent time at Travis and am familiar with Concord. I’ll stop into Diablo next time I’m up there. Thanks for the suggestions!

Flea bay that's funny. The Guantlet also by Umarex is advertised a haven't a 281/4" barrel it doesn't it's only 231/2.
The Zelos has a true 26" barrel , and a 20 round mag in .22 easy to put a bottle on for more shots.

Any thoughts on Air Force? I saw Utah Airguns has a Talon P on sale for less than $300! I am researching it against the rest of the herd. I am concerned it will be too loud even with a moderator for night time target neutralization. Plus, the Talon does not appear to be regulated. I’ll give it GP’s for made in USA with lifetime warranty.
I am a big fan of AirForce utility platform. Simple, robust, 4 o'rings, easy to upgrade.

That said I only have Condor and Talon. But the Talon P is just a shortened version.

Single shot, I originally avoided the utility platform because of that. Then a .22 TalonSS fell in my lap for $100. Fixed the oring in the tophat and started plinking away.

Then $500 later it was a 50FPE .22.

So, i picked up a CondorSS and TalonSS upgraded them to 24" .25 regulated 70FPE guns.

Oh, I add plenums too.
My modified versions with 1.1L bottles.

Hello all,

I’ve found a new way to express my passion for shooting and marksmanship through air guns, so I’m happy to be here amongst you experts, mentors, enthusiasts, and fellow new members.

I’ve lurked before joining and look forward to upgrading my arsenal with the help and knowledge of the members here.

Other than some Gamo break-barrels, I have a Hatsan Jet (not too happy with) with a Buck Rail modulator and AGM Rattler V2. I have a Donny FL Shogun on the way.

These days, I’m interested in backyard shooting and pest control as stealthy as possible.

Thanks for having me.
