.177 TX200 vs .22 HW35E, Seated FT position @ 100yds

Stats on the contenders:

TX200 .177, 740fps w/ JSB 8.44gr (10.3fpe)

HW35E .22, 630fps w/ FTT 14.66gr (13fpe)

Wind was anywhere from 2-4mph between the two groups. The TX actually had it a bit easier than the 35E. The wind definitely picked up a hair when I shot that one.

HW35Es Attempt:

I goofed on one of my shots by using the wrong hash mark while shooting the 35E. Its hot and I didn't want to start over so I'm just going to pretend it didn't happen. It isn't the guns fault that I can't read.

Anyway, the HW35E managed to take it by 0.25" somehow. I was a bit suprised because the TX200 stomps the 35E all day within 50yds. Not today though!

I like to shoot beer cans hung up right on top of a vertical steel rod at a hundred yards with my Hw30. I get a real kick out of the delayed action too. It's funny because it seems to take forever to get there. Then the can spins on the rod and then you hear the wicked tink of 2 fpe. Lol
"The wicked tink of 2fpe" 🤣

Its funny you should say that because I was going to attempt to group the 30S after work today but by the time I got home the wind had picked up something fierce. Hopefully tomorrow!

I generally won't shoot my 30s for groups past 30 yards. They'll hang with every gun I own including my 97 out to 25 yards sometimes 30 if the wind is down. I'll shoot 2" spinners at 50 yards and beer cans at 100yds all day with the 30s though. It makes me giggle shooting something so weak that far and still hitting the target. Reactive target are the most satisfying for me. If I try to shoot groups those distances I'll get all serious and the fun goes right out the window. That's just me. I typically only shoot groups at 50 yds with 14 fpe or more. I don't shoot groups past that. I did kill a crow with my Hw50 at 63 yards and a starling at 104 or 108 yards (it was a while ago) with my Hw95. I mostly shoot seated at a bench. I alway hold my rifles. They never touch a rest of any kind. Once in a while I'll shoot offhand when I have a sense of humor or feeling lucky. Both feelings usually diminish rapidly as I usually suck offhand.

I just traded my walnut-stocked HW35E in .177, for a walnut AA TX200 MK111 in .22. Waiting on a scope to shoot it with.

Thats a heck of a trade on your part congratulations! I love both of mine for different reasons but the TX200 is on a whole other level
