.177 Satisfaction

PCP wise, I started off with a Bobcat .25, then a Raptor HP .30, then an Impact .30. The way to go seemed to be bigger bore.

Then I got a DreamTac Compact .25 and changed out the barrel to a .177. I have got to say, that little thing is a pleasure to shoot. So dang quiet and very little drop. this weekend I found the JSB Exact Monster 13.43 gr were the perfect match for the barrel. You can shoot birds one after the other and by the time they figure out what's happening, they don't know what just happened! The cream on the cake is that you can shoot all day for less than $12.

Just had to share that.

.177 is the most accurate caliber, IMO. Don't sell short it's ability to use for hunting small game at 60 yards or less. If your range is confined, it's the best for precision shooting. I will always have one in my collection. My favorite is my RAW HM1000. Currently set up at 15 FPE and gets 200 shots per fill. I started using it to shoot BR LV, but been shooting it for FT for many years, and would never think of replacing it with anything else.

FelixS, I know exactly what you mean about picking off several birds before they get it figured out. Lots of shots and cheap like you say. Nice looking little rifle you have there. SorenSD, Your groups from the red wolf are incredible. Just like jps2486 with the Raw. I really appreciate low recoil of the small calibers as well. Dairyboy do they have CZ barrels? Nice choice of stock!
