177 pellet guns and there Pellets

I got a Vulcan #2 177 gun that likes the JSB 10.3 gr and the Beast 16.20 gr pellets Tried the H&N sliver point 11.57 gr oops gun did not like this pellet not at 25 yards and not at 48 yards, Got my Uragan 177 coming this Tuesday I am just trying out different pellets , I would like to keep the weight above 10 grams , Any other pellet your 177 likes I should try ? Oh the Vulcan is shooting the 16 grs at 800 FPS and the 10 grams at a little over 900 , I got a lot of 8 gr pellets that I have turn it down a little for the pellets to fly right but its a lazar , That's why I am staying above 10gr pellets

I have several guns that like the H&N FT 10 grain .But I just looked on their website and Seems like they quit making them. They have either the 8.64 and now they have one that’s a little over 11 grain.I don’t know why these companies keep changing things. I had a problem with Most of the JSB pellets I was getting a few years ago. They just wouldn’t shoot good in anything that I have. But for the past year now the ones that I have bought are working good.

Most of my guns can shoot a variety of pellets very accurately. My HW95 loves hades and will do a number on squirrels. The Wildcat, when I finally got it shooting true, basically only shot the JSB 13.43. I don’t remember all now, but try JSB: 8.44, 10.34, 13.43, Hades. H/N FTT in 4.52 in particular. & never a bad idea to give the Polymag a go, even if they group slightly less than the others, there’s nothing like the sound they make when they hit a pest/prey.

I have great luck with the H and N Barracuda in both Match and regular (unsorted). They are a 10.65 and all 3 sized heads work great for me. I also have great luck with the FTT but they are lighter at 8.64 so might not be heavy enough for your guns (my Hatsan is regulated and shoots the JSB heavies at 850FPS). Crosman Premier Domes are a 10.5 gr. but my Hatsan isn't a fan (My Crosman 1701P however LOVES those pellets, but is only flinging them at somewhere around 440 fps). I have not had good luck with the SIiver Points either as I suspect they are a bit too weighted forward and any variation causes them to start to tumble.

I like those also but I looked on their website last night and it Don’t show them anymore. It shows pellets that are a little over 11 grain now.

Thanks guys,

I am glad I ask the question, I realized JSB makes a 13.40 and a 13.43 pellet , Small difference but a difference, I find myself testing the pellets in my 177 gun a lot more than my 22 and 25 caliber guns, I think because of the crazy shot count , I am also going to stick with pellets and keep the slugs out of it as my range is only 48 yards for now,,, But i do believe the slugs will come in handy at the 100 yard mark and past for the tiny 177 caliber.

And for you 177 shooters I will let you know how the Uragan shoots and the pellet it likes when I get it Tuesday after I get it set up sighted in and cleaned up...
