.177 JSB Hades...first thoughts and

Okay I finally was able to get some JSB Hades pellets in .177 here in the Netherlands, which was more for my amusement than anything, but also preps for the Autumn/Winter hunts in Idaho (praying can happen).

I know and know there has been countless posts / videos on the Hades, but that still doesn’t make up for seeing things first hand.

I shot the Hades out of my Brocock Compatto into some clay at low, mid/high and high power. Well I have one word!!!...impressed!!! I can see what the JSB meant to do, make a pellet designed to catch and grab, cut along with providing a good energy dump upon impact on to the target. Plus the Hades is the 12 plus ft/lbs in the Compatto at the sub-12 foot pound setting and it is the only pellet that I have shot in the gun, which so far is around 10 that has done that.

Once I get the Crown Continuum I will try the Hades and see how they are, and expansion on the tests at different power settings.

Lastly, again none of this is new just my first hands thoughts and impressions.

Now to get to ready for bed...I am off on an extreme road trip to Austria for a week excited to get back the mountains AND have a goal to average a 100 mph / 160 kph the way there on through Germany Autohban. :D (And no, a 100 mph doesn’t seem that fast anymore and doesn’t as long as you have the car and roads handle the speed, plus being observant as hell for the actions of other drivers.)

I also recently acquired 2 tins. I shot into duct seal I left out in the sun on an 85* day for 30 minutes and then shot the Hades and the Polymag Shorts at 40 yards from a 17fpe gun. The accuracy isn't as good as the Polys, but for squirrels at that distance they're good enough. I also have some H&N Hornets that are incredibly accurate to try in the duct seal, but with the price of them, I don't see myself buying more.

edit: i'm thawing out an unprocessed squirrel from last season to try them on.
