There is also a UK U-Tube that shows the wound channel of .177 compared to higher calibers. The difference is not significant.
Have you seen tests comparing .177 slugs to pellets? Slugs in .177 are normally at 28-30 ft.b at the muzzle, pellets at 12-20 FtLb, especially if a HP variety... The pass thru or miss damage from slugs is far greater in pesting environments and normal airgun ranges. At ranges where slugs excel they are not tremendously effective in terms of energy dump in .177. The new slugs from NSA May very well change that. I am anxious. From my observations, longer range pesting is more suited to .22 and .25. The ammo dumps energy more effectively at those ranges.
That said I have placed .177 slugs between the ear and eye of groundhogs at 93 yards with .177 slugs and seen them just slump. It was opportune and not the norm though.
