177 exit wounds at 40 yards

Sorry, no blood, its mandarin oranges and i used two totally different guns with different ammo at 40 yards so its probably useless information but enjoy.
On the right of each picture you have seneca hunting pellets out of a AEA challlenger nova
And the left zan 16gr slugs out of a marauder

Paintball, grapes, even kids "gell blaster" orbies make fun targets. The orbies are really challenging depending on range.

I poo pood 177 for many years judging it on my childhood 1377 power and my friends break barrels. Not till later in life did I realize we were all living under 500 fps. Up at 800fps and above 177 Is too much fun and less worry of property damage when pesting.

Pcp made 177 real, my old 10 pumper and even gamo magnum won't make canned goods do flips in the air.

No worries. I actually prefer “no blood”. The end of those cans definitely popped outward from the pressure. I like shooting stuff with a dynamic reaction. Eggs are a particular favorite. Thanks for sharing.

I particularly like fruits with pits inside like plums or cherries, mostly plums as we have a number of plum trees with fruit that no one really likes. When you hit them around the edges they splatter a bit, but when you get a bullseye and nail the pit it produces a loud crack and the fruit almost explodes. I was shooting plums and apples today. Apples make good targets for powderburners, but not quite so good for airguns as they often just pass right through them.

Cool, which one do you tend to use more often? I find senecas to never really be consistent, but they sure do punch through with their weight and shape.

Each gun has its preferred ammo, both relatively new and used about the same, the marauder is much lighter but the aea has more punch as you can see from the balloning in the can on the right side, the domed pellet made more damage out of the aea than a hollow point slug out of the marauder. the seneca is the only thing that is actually consistent in the AEA on full power, nsa 178 a close second. In my .25 the seneca are not as consistent. The marauder is much more forgiving, the seneca doesn't fit the magazine in that but anything I've loaded shot acceptably well, it just doesn't matter a whole lot with that thing. It has a LW barrel, a Hill matched parts kit and I did some valve tweaking on it.

Nsa's are great, I just don't like how much they foul up the barrel a lot, or the fact that they don't expand much. But they work extremely well out to distance.

I've never found a consistent seneca, at least not for my use case. That's awesome though!

I was really surprised the AEA 177 preferred the seneca, it might do better with slugs if I dial it down but I was hoping for a more powerful slug gun not more of the same thing. My other 2 AEA guns shoot slugs on full power consistently and the marauder will shoot up to 20gr slugs just fine. But im OK just using the seneca in that gun, they pack a punch.
