Hatsan .177 Air Tact BRAKE BARREL

Anyone have one of these springers ?
Mine is a .177 I found the Crosman PIRANHA 10.5 grain pellets fit very snug in the breech , and have some good accuracy.

Does a BRAKE barrel reduce the muzzle velocity of the pellet?

A Brake let's out pressure ,air , or gases , and , I don't know if it will reduce velocity , or not , but I do know that after I removed the front fiber optic sight , and stored it in cavity of the pistol grip , and wrapped black tape around the muzzle brake ports that it helped the accuracy a lot.

That said, I read that "brake" and "break" started to diverge from the same word around the 14th century from the Old French "brac" or fore-arm, which became a lever arm used to force apart or separate, or the act to beat or disrupt something into separated parts.

And that all said, OldVet, by how do you mean accurate, compared to what?
