.177 86 yard shot on squirrel slow motion .

Pulsar HP .177
JSB 13.43g Knockout @ 1009fps / 30ft lbs

Still getting used to new tune, hit an 80 yard shot yesterday going up 4 MOA so here @ 86 yards I used the 5 MOA hashmark. Dead on, I should have went for a headshot but wasn't 100% positive on my guesstimation so just aimed for the body....oh well, next time. Slug went through vitals and stopped just short of making a mess of his guts. Was able to retrieve the slug, was gonna add him to the stew but was so damn tough trying to skin him, was ripping the meat so I just tossed him...so much easier to skin a rabbit.

Looks like a Ground Squirrel not a Tree squirrel ??
You do leave them lay .. as very common for them to also be plague carriers via ticks.

Hope you protected yourself while handling !!!
I always throw them in with the rabbits for stew. Eaten dozens of them but they are a pain to skin, hard as hell you almost need pliers to get the skin off. Plague is so rare it's ridiculous. People should worry more about eating like poop and getting diabetes or heart disease.

"Around 29.7 million people have been diagnosed with diabetes."...

"In 2023, 919,032 people died from cardiovascular disease"

And here is the WHOPPING NUMBER OF PLAGUE CASES!!!

"Plague is a disease caused by a bacterium, Yersinia pestis, that can be transmitted to humans via rodents and their fleas. Plague in Yosemite is most commonly associated with fleas found on ground squirrels and chipmunks. Plague in humans is very rare, with only about ten cases per year in the United States"

I'll take my chances with the plague
