What is the actual diameter of these slugs? Reason I ask, is I make my own, in one particular diameter, id be interested in buying some of these lighter ones. If they are the same diameter as what I have, it would be a moot point.
They are made in a .178 die however the short slugs like this fall in the transitional point of the die so they will be just under the diameter but by a few tenths.
I received your 12.5gr .178 slugs yesterday. Did a quick sight in and went Eurasian dove and cottontail rabbit hunting. The POP these slugs make is unreal!!! My shots were from about 20 to 60 yards and the slugs performed great. No follow-up shots needed.
The gun I’m using is a 30 FPE Daystate.177 HP. Not sure how fast the slugs are going but they hit HARD!! Here is one I recovered form a rabbit for comparison, great expansion!!
I'm really excited about these. I hope they become widely available. A .177 slug might well be way more popular than you think, considering it may make .177's in some ways a caliber that can match some of what a .22 can do. I hope to find your stuff widely distributed, as said. Steve Shally of AEAC certainly seems thrilled by your product!
This makes me very excited about the.177cal again, thanks to Nielsen covering the wide calibers choices of making the spectrum work out to accommodate many needs and barrels. And believe this will inspire more shooters to go back to the.177cal thus keeping the airguns industry healthy! That’s all good
