$1500 Scope Choices

Certainly I can do a google and get all sorts of ads, but I just want to get some input from actual shooters. I'm looking to put a new scope on a 22cal FX King. The gun is used mostly for ground squirrel shooting. What would you personally consider in the $1500( + or - $200) with what reticle and power range? I am currently using a
Meopta Optika 5 4-20x44, but I am not happy with the optics. I don't really care too much where it is made as long as it is made right from the gitgo.

What are you looking for in a scope? Do you wear glasses? How far are you looking out to? What time of day are you shooting? Do you shooting at first light and last light? Do you need clarity? Do you prefer ffp or sfp? Do you prefer to stay away from fine reticles, or do you prefer them?

Maven RS1.2. No question. Best bang for your buck and has been proven. I'm a member on another forum where among other things they do some zero retention (drop evaluation) and tracking testing on scopes. This one gets good marks.

While I am still saving up to buy another, I really like the Leupold Mark 4HD 8-32x56 M5C3 Side Focus PR2-MIL scope (#183970).
If you're looking for an illuminated reticle, then you might look at the #183624 Model, which as a 4.5-18x52 Leupold scope. I actually like this reticle a bit better, that's what I'm saving to buy.
All depends upon what exactly, you're looking to do with it.

For a squirrel gun, i'd go with an MTC connect.. no where near $1500, light nimble, and because of the potential for quick yet varied angles, I like the fact that I need to put my eye right up against it... I can more or less rely on head position to mitigate the vast majority of parallax error.. If I drop, bump, or decide to throw the darn thing at the squirrels instead, I won't be out all that dough..

My only issue with Leupold scpoes is the minimum focus. Most Leupold scopes only focus to 50yds, a few go down to 25yds, and only one in their entire line up of scopes focuses down to 10yds. Otherwise they are great scopes.
