Some time ago I found a 1377 lying beside the road, I picked it up and have gotten a lot of use from it. I made it into a carbine and it is good. I belive it to be and older model.

So today at the flea market I buy another one. I was told that it still new and really hard to pump. I gave 35.00$ for it and a new tin of Winchester Wadcutters.

Later this after noon I try to shoot it. I could hardly get it to pump. I take a trip out to the garage and pull the piston out. I has like black chips all over it. I clean the tube and piston then put a light coat of lithum grese on it and it is better but still hard as heck to pump. Four pumps seems to be the max. I can't hardly get the handle to go down after that.

The piston is a plastic one and a rubber cup seal. The seal does not have any damage that I can see

Any advice on how to make this thing a little better

Thank You and God Bless

Bobby

I was shooting my 1377 today. And I noticed. Not all the air would get discharged when fired. The first pump on what I thought was an empty air cylinder was somewhat hard. So I “dry fired” it. Cocked the bolt but did not pump up the gun. No pellet in chamber. And a small amount of air came out .... ?? Odd.
Im not sure what would creat this issue. I have the steel breach installed. And a few other things. But I’ve never torn into the actual pump mechanism.
So, try to dry fire your gun. No pellet. Don’t pump it up. And point it at something like a tissue to see if any air comes out.
