Crosman 1377/1322 grip question

After extending the barrel on my 1322 it dawned on me that I'd really like a "Tommy gun style" handle on the front grip.
Even something as basic as a 1" wooden dowel sticking straight down from the front grip and as far forward as possible.
Functional, but it would look ugly as sin.
So I figure it's worth asking ... has anyone already made something like this?
 
your idea could work but i think you would lose leverage and it might be hard to use at all.

tinkering is just that, take an idea and doing some R&D work and bring it to life and there is only one person you have to please and that is you.
I was thinking of milling a small flat on the pump arm (I replaced the plastic one with wood) and attaching a short picatinny rail. There are a number of foregrips made to attach to rifles this way. I could also use it for a bipod like on my Zoraki
