My Sportsman does 620 w 14.3s on 2 pumps. My Dragon is virtually identical to yours for power but it's a 22. I had a Dragon FT in 177 but it would only do 10.1 ft lb and the trigger/valve assembly was nowhere near as well made as my current one. The Sportsman is much harder to pump. A single stroke COULD be a GREAT Ft rifle if you could actually get 11.5 ft lb out of it without excessive effort. Haven't seen it yet though. A multi pump would need a free floated barrel as the difference in stress from different numbers of strokes causes lateral or vertical change , depending on the direction of pump. My Sportsman (and all I've worked on) moves laterally. The difference between 2 and 3 pumps is 3/4" at 50 yds w 14.3s. My Sharp Aces are better but there is still some. The Benji's, Crosmans, and Sheridans are more difficult to detect because they are under pumpers, but the effect is still there. A single stroke never varies because the stress is always the same.
Food for thought ...
