10mm burst disc that doesnt blow below 4500psi?

I wanted to swap burst discs for a better brand. Do any of you have chinese compressors that you fill to 4500 reliably? I figured id just buy that brands disc and holder. Mine blows from 3500 to sometimes 4200. Almost out of discs and its a weird size I need to get overseas.

Also, not sure why they dont use a plastic washer POM underneath the 10mm burst disc bolt. Maybe I had one and it fell out, but ive seen others mention it lacking.

My 1st Yong Heng kept blowing burst discs when I first got it. Friend of mine told me to use 2 instead of one. Worked beautifully for 3.5 years. You could try that. As a rule I try to not push my 4500 compressors past 4300psi. Those last couple hundred lbs puts a lot of strain on them & not worth it in the long run if you want them to last. YMMV

I wouldn't use two. You're defeating the purpose of the safety device. Two could go way above 4500psi.

You're right but I always pay very close attention during fill process & YH has a 2nd pressure relief built in. But it DOES defeat the intended purpose. Luckily my newer YH has no problems with blowing burst discs.

I did the same thing Gerry did and stopped having the problem of the disks blowing. I too don't trust the auto shut off and keep a watch while filling.

I have three compressors, and when I went to buy the second one, a shooting friend bought my CS3 and I ended up with 3 CS2's. I have one at each each house and one on the range house in my back field.

I don't see a real problem as long as your vigilant, which it seems you have a handle on that.

One of my YH or PCPs, can't recall which, used two burst disks. It came that way, with disks that were thinner than another application. I ran the pressure up to make sure that the disks blew before 5,000 PSI.

I have trusted my CS3 and Nuonge's automatic shutoff for a couple of years, although I always keep an eye & ear on things.

The CS3's burst disk is a reason to trust it, and I keep considering installing a burst disk onto the Nuonge.

I'm blown away that all PCPs haven't a burst disk. That was a feature that I liked on my Kral Mega.

There is no math. Having been many times to China for industrial Hydraulic system startups I can assure you they have ZERO mill certificates for the materials they use. These disks are made in gross, batch tested and are at best case +/- 10% accurate for rupture worse yet the repeatability is a non issue for their QC.

EK2 uses a 7mm disc.
I punched a couple out of .005 brass. They work fine, but then I monitor my fills.

A lot of times the disc will burst because of contamination whether it be water or grease.

For GX owners; keep those check valves clean !

I bought a Sekhmet gage and put aa quick disconnect on it for the fill hose . Installed on the fill hose and set the auto shut off to PSI i want to fill my gun to , run compressor to auto stop and read the Sk gage for the fill shut off PSI if correct bleed the hose (remove the gage )and then fill the gun

Never was able to find any 4500psi burst disk for my big gold and blue air filters off Amazon. Ended up double them and trusting compressor burst disk.

FWIW, the 3/8x24 standard labeled discs are loose when threading but didnt wiggle or leak when tightened. You sacrifice 0.5mm of thread width however. I didnt want it to fly out so I went back to 10mm style disca.
