100 yards with the .30 Marauder.

Spent some time behind the trigger this afternoon before work with my recently completed .30 Marauder. 75 yards has become too easy, so I moved out to 100 yards. I took 2 shoots to verify my holdover was correct from chairgun then went to work. I didn't put up any targets, just shot hickory nuts. (have a number of hickory trees out back and a hickory tree right at 100 yards, so no shortage of free targets) 100 yards got boring after 25-30 pellets, so I move to 150 yards and continued my nut cracking. This .30 is amazing!! I believe that this .30 marauder is the most accurate airgun I have ever owned. I can see why the .30 is becoming so popular not just as a field gun but also in BR.

That's Great AJ! Your making that a project that I really want to try. I took a few days off starting yesterday so I can spend some time getting to know my RAW. Of course it had to rain ALL day yesterday. Today looks good however so I will be testing it at 100 yards here very soon.
I wonder if Crosman will take note of your project. Factory 30 Marauder. Humm? How many shots are you getting?

Only 7 shots at 1.6% ES. I could get more, but the increase ES would not be condusive to accuracy.

Great shooting. More and more I'm starting to like the 30 cal for long distance shooting.

I am glad the gamble on the .30 marauder worked out well. I am sure it makes it more satisfying that you put it together yourself. The .30 is a beast of a gun and I too like the accuracy of that caliber.

Just wait till you take it out to hunt, so much fun.

Questions what .30 r you using the 44.75 or 50?
also curious about the fps? I found that low 900 is the most accuracy wonder if that's your experience

Hey AJ what was your total cost on this project and what tools did you use. The reason I ask is I would like to get into modding my own rifles but don't have a whole lot of experience doing it and was wondering what tools are necessary to do that kind of work. Thanks again for all the updates it's been a really cool project to follow

I wish I had your mechanical ability. You are shooting 45 grains at what I am tossing Benjamin Domes in my 25 on the factory settings. Must be a hammer.

I put a cost list and a list of links at the end of AJ's first thread about this project. Has links and prices to all the parts. He'll have to handle the question about tools. I'd post the link but my iPad is nearing end of life. It can't handle such a complex task at the moment.
