10 meter accuracy

I am trying to decide on a pellet gun that I want to serve 2 purposes.

1. rid the yard of invasive pests.

2. shoot 10 meters at my club in a shoot what you got set up. Here there will be anything from $100 CMP guns to $2500 dedicated 10 meter guns and we allow scopes.

So, my question is, at 10 meters how much more accurate is something like an FWB 800 or a T200 or an S400 compared to a Marauder F/T or a Gauntlet?

Thanks

I have all of them. The Daisy has a trigger that's nowhere near match grade even with the Pilkington mods. Super accurate but it's cheap and you it when you handle one.

The FWB 800 ALUMINUM is well worth the money especially if shopping at AoA who's selling them at used prices for brand new ones. I have the aluminum FT 12 fpe but iunfkrtuneately wasnt one of them at that discount.

Pesting huh? Go find yourself an old FWB 300s put a scope on it and that's the best $450-$600 you will spend on ANY AIRGUN PERIOD!

The 177 Gauntlet is probably the most accurate cheapest and crudest and heavy bulky 177 beast of an accurate shooter you will find that has the potential to get consistent 1/4" groups at 50 yards under ideal conditions if you get one with an exceptional barrel otherwise 1/2" to 3/8" are more the norm. HAJIMOTO Barrel band is a must so is the trigger mod.

One hole is one hole at 10 meters. All that you mention do that but the 800 is the comfortable purposely built one.

The FWB 300s has more oomph at 50 yards compared to the 800 which probably has a maximum effective killing range at around 30-35 yards while the 100+fps faster shooting 300s reaches out to 55-60 yards max. The 300s is also a purpose built proven 10 meter gold medal Olympic champion of yesteryear. I killed the most pests with a scoped 300s than any other gun I have ever owned and its something that would never let me down in the accuracy department no ifs ands or butts.

It is recoilless and no special hold necessary and shoots like an accurate PCP in many cases even more accurate than a PCP. Your scope needs to be able to handle mild Springer recoil and the shooter doesn't feel any recoil. Buy a BKL 1 Piece .007 droop compensated mount and at least a Vortex Crossfire2 with adjustable objective if you are ok with so-so glass or get super clear glass on sale at SWFA. This one is pretty much the clearest you will find comparing it to pretty much anything under $700 except the $699 SWFA SS 3-15x42 which looks about up and up in clarity and positive reliable clicks for dialing in all shots at any reasonable distances so you can put your custom made ballistic turret and dial to the yards then always aim dead on. I took out small birds like sparrows out to 60-65 yards max but mentally knew that the up to 50-55 were the longest shots that should be taken for larger birds. Anything under 35 yards don't even have to try hard.

The 300 is spring but recoilless. I would say it depends on what you are shooting at. I have taken plenty of pest within my yard out to 45 yards with 10 meter power. Just have to know the impact point and be accurate.

Your price range is large enough that you should probably get two guns. I have some nice rifles that are in the safe when not being used. I also have a bullpup that is always out and used for pesting when the opportunity comes up.

it also depends on how serious you are about ten meter shooting. Shooting just in the yard or going to matches?

Buy the 12fpe FT version of the FWB 800 then use it for both 10 meter and hunting then you won't need to worry about shooting in the wind as much and greatly extend your hunting range past 60 yards.

I don’t have an 800 but I do have an FWB P70FT and an AA 400MPR turned up to 12 and can say that the make wonderful backyard pest guns. I think my 400 has more pest notches in its stock than anything else I own. And turning one from 6-12 ftlb takes one o-ring and about 10 minutes.

Airguns of Arizona where they actually check out the guns you buy first before even shipping them to you and even accuracy test PCPs with chrony string for free to include with the gun. A company that flipped an entire 360 to bend over backwards to satisfy their customers unlike the OLD AOA where you needed cases of VASELINE. YUP! The place that has the best telephone call back system in the business.

I guess they graduated from customer service school and got all A+++

You need to find a USED FWB 300s with at least a new breech seal and preferably been serviced not too long ago because these are very old vintage guns and who knows how many rounds and taken cared of (OR NOT).

Yes that Sidewinder should be tough enough but you probably want one that goes to 20x to appreciate how accurate it is at farther distances like plinking at ants and flies and bees and grasshoppers etc...

I thought you mentioned this one as the one you were Thinking of buying when you mentioned it. Heres a cheaper wood version...on sale...actually new old stock and not used... I already checked...
