1/3rd Of An Inch, Straight To The Face

So, I popped down to my rental property to see if any groundhogs were out and about. Lo and behold, I caught one munching away! But I hadn't even got the window open yet, so I had to be stealthy. I took the safety off the Maverick and eased it's Ronin suppressor covered nose down towards the abandoned yard right next door. I ranged the target with my ATN X-Sight 4K Pro ABL Laser Rangefinder a few times, and the Ballistics Calculator moved my reticle to the new POI.

A moment later, the marmot caught a glimpse of me out the corner of its eye, so it's now or never, before the Grande squirrel dived to a burrow. I threaded the needle and zipped a .30 cal Hybrid Slug straight to the groundhog's face. At 930 fps, it was a one and done!

The FX Maverick is certainly earning it's keep!

As much fun it is to pop these bastards, I'm getting really worried about these numbers so early in the season. I just popped my 4th of the year, and I saw at least two more in an adjacent field. Groundhogs are some of the hardest pest to pop, because they are so scary and will dive to a burrow with just a whiff of danger. I simply don't have 4 hours every day to try and keep these bastards at bay, so I'm at a loss of what to do next. 😥

Hope you’re not charging much for rent, lol.

Well, that is the abandoned home next to my rental property. It has been a huge breeding ground for these groundhogs, and has even caused the vacant home next to that basement wall to collapse. I would be kinda a weird peasant to own expensive airguns and not at least get a functioning gas grill at the place! 😁
