1/2 unf adapter too snug of fit

I bought a 1/2 unf adapter for a crosman barrel, but it's just a teeny tiny bit too small to fit over the barrel. I've tried shoving it on with some force and it's not going to happen. I'd still like to use this if I can. Any ideas how I can sand down the inside of the adapter a hair in a uniform way? I don't have a drill bit thats 11 mm either.

Nevermind! I answered my own question. Ended up using a dremel rotary tool sander and buffer attachment

How much to tight is it. Cool the end of the barrel and heat the adapter that will possibly give enough to slide on. Been there done it

Woah thanks Vinny! Great tip cause im actually quite a bit too tight still. It barely goes half a mm past the barrel. Im gonna try heating this up with a torch....

Don’t heat the barrel , And don’t over heat the adapter

Thanks Vinny. I tried to do it low and slow but after about an hour of fiddling with it I got frustrated and pulled out the torch. Even then I could barely get the thing half way on. The tolerances on this thing suck! Anyway, a few hammer smacks later and it's on about as much as it'll go, and I'm guessing it's more or less permanent now.

I was afraid I messed up the barrel but still shoots perfect. It also made my setup even more quiet it seems like. Maybe because of the tighter fit I dunno.

You can put the Crosman barrel in a drill and hold a file or sanding block to it, while it spins, to take it down a little.

Thanks, biohazard man! That's a great tip and I should have done that with what Vinny said with the heating. I'll have to try that next time.
