1/2 Dozen for My Atomic XR… and ratting news!

Took seven, recovered these six. All at 23-25 yards. The unrecoverable sparrow was 40 yards off a low roofline. Two of these were taken while the owner was present. But the best part was being referred to a farm down the road with rat problems. They raise pigs… By the owners of my current permission. Put in a call and am waiting to hear more. Wish me luck… I would love to unleash my Atomic XR on a big rat population.

Nice shooting Leon. Can’t wait to get back into it as I finally just closed on my land purchase upstate NY near Binghamton. Right now Im focused on deer but in the spring I will be doing some cleanup and making a small off grid cabin. Then I will be hitting the rats, squirrels and birds. Nice shooting.

That is an accurate and nice looking outfit.
Good luck getting in the rat elimination zone
I’m a western states hunter and I have to ask why shoot sparrows? Are they overly prolific? Are they good eatin?
I hunt Upland game birds, large animal, occasionally coyote, many prairie dogs etc. so its not like I’m against hunting.
Am I missing out on something here?

All the pictured sparrows were killed in the act of stealing grain in a hoop house. Eliminated strictly as pests. Same birds on my property get a pass.

Looks like the gun is perfect for the amount of room you need to cover.
I like the cardboard blind too. Sometimes small things turn out to be effective.
