0db moderator/silencer caliber size

Donny's recommendation is due to the LDC mounting on the barrel shroud in order to compensate for concentricity issues that might exist between shroud and barrel. It is better to use the LDC of the correct caliber for the gun. It makes no sense to compensate for a problem that does not exist, so check first. The best and easiest way to do this is to acquire a piece of precision shafting of the correct diameter to fit in the end of your barrel. To do that, take your barrel to a guy that has a set of pin gauges and measure its end diameter. Most machine shops will have a set. Then ask that shop to order you a piece of shafting to the closest diameter and then turn or grind the end to fit your barrel. This tool is very handy and should be used every time the barrel/LDC is disassembled for cleaning. When I make an LDC I use .020" clearance (.5mm). That seems to be the right number for optimum performance in my experience.
