I would go with a heavier pellet. My Veteran shorty has a 14 inch barrel and is regulated at 120 bar. Shooting 18.1s at 880-890 gives me 31+ ftlbs.

Cottontails are easy to kill, it really doesn’t matter which pellet you choose as long as you can put it where it needs to go.

.30 is pretty popular these days, .25 is way cheaper than that. If you want cheap shoot a .177. I have 3 .25’s in my safe, I like the extra thump they put on squirrels over a .22 while still being not too expensive to plink with. One theory could be that guys are shooting more slugs these days...
