    Tired of researching/YouTube!!

I would also recommend .25 caliber for the species you listed as Ezana4ce stated. From my perspective, the cost to performance ratio is best with .25 caliber. I've used my .25 cals to take woodchuck, fox, skunk, and raccoons out to 85 yards regularly. I've heard great things about the gauntlets...

    Tuning Prod mods

There are power mods to be done... Little research will get you a ton of info. I've heard of guys getting up to 40 fpe but shot count really suffers. I would start with a modest porting job on the transfer port and barrel port and go from there. It just depends on where you want to go with it...

    Does it exist?

A huben would also fit your criteria as well and in semi auto. Along with the kalibrgun crickets... Very similar to taipan.

    Does it exist?

I think your looking for a taipan veteran. I believe the fill pressure max is 4500psi, but I only take mine up to 3600 or so. They have a 10 or 12 shot magazine in .22 and have a fairly high shot count especially if you get thelong version.

Okay so.. its a big mess! How do you organize all your Airgun support?

You might want to consider a fishing tackle box. I have two that I use just for the airguns. One is a very large one where I put the majority of my tools and parts, including but not limited to regs, valves, lights, pic rails, Allen wrenches, screw drivers, pliers, pellet gauge, calipers and...

Tuning Tuning My FX Maverick Is Harder Than I Anticipated

To get to 950-960 with the 600mm barrel you are definitely going to need to be at least 145 probably 150 bar on the rear reg. It would probably be better if you had the dual transfer port. I was able to get 950 from mine, but i had the hammer spring maxed out and the reg set at ~150 bar but...

Tuning Tuning My FX Maverick Is Harder Than I Anticipated

Estarkey7, The maverick also has the internal hammer spring adjustment that willneed to be turned up. What are you targeting for speed? Might be able to help a little more on targets for settings.

    Casting Equipment

Casting can be very fruitful in my opinion. If your willing to shop around and buy used you can get into casting for a reasonable price. I for one got my equipment over the course of a couple years and bought used. You will need a furnace, mold, and lead as others have stated. You will also need...

    Questions about the new Texans

It's funny I followed pistol forums for a few years when I was deciding what pistol I wanted for a hunting rig. Yeah I do a little to much research before I buy things. In any case a lot of the old timers on there with hundreds of pistol hunts between them always said a 240gr bullet doing...

    Questions about the new Texans

So I am currently on the same journey as you right now and this is what I have and am experimenting with right now. I currently have the .457 Texan LSS CF and decided on this due to ammo availability compared to the .50 cal. I ordered .457 Pioneer roundball ammo with it when i ordered and it...

    High end pcp

What are you looking to hunt. If squirrels and starlings then the air AA 510 is great. Of looking to take woodchucks, skunks, racoons. I would opt for .25 cal. I haven't owned a 510 but from everything I've read they are an amazing gun. They are a more mid power gun where most of my applications...

    Tuning Maverick barrel ports

Yes that's correct. The port that is down is the one that allows air to flow into the barrel from the transfer port and valve in the back of the plenum.

Which slugs have worked the best in a .25 cal. Crickett carbine?

My bullpup cricket .25 likes the H&N Grizzlies. Not to many people have success with these slugs, but I have heard from a few other cricket owners who have had good success as well. What's great is if your gun likes them they are pretty cheap too. Alex

What kind of projects do you have on your workbench?

Just finished my portable shooting bench. All pieces and parts were recycled from stuff people were throwing away, I love projects like that. I don't have a dedicated shooting range, its a horse pasture and a hill side so this will let me shoot without having to lay on the ground. I also just...

Stupid Newbie Question #1. bstately modification for Prod.

As the other two gentleman have stated the bottle conversion and bstaley mod are two different things. The bstaley mod places 2-4 #211 orings in front of the valve face to act as a buffer for hammer bounce and to limit valve lift. This mod is also usually accompanied by opening the transfer port...

    Mid/Big Bores?

I'm not sure how you have your marauder tuned or if you have any aftermarket parts in it, but you may not need to go up in caliber just in power. In stock form the marauder .25 is a 40 fpe gun. Usually pushing 25gr pellets at 850ish fps. This is what I started out with as well. Great gun for the...

    Help with JSB KO fliers

Could try a push through sizing die to eliminate this as an issue. If you can get them I don't think there too expensive. I have one in .25 caliber.

    New enthusiast!

Nsboost, Nice to have you here. .25 cal is a great round and is very versatile. The impact does offer a huge amount of flexibility and is a platform that has gotten better over time. The first models had some reliability issues (even most FX gurus/fan boys will admit this), but each new model...
