Huma Lelya 12 FT/LBS tuning regulator first impressions

I played somewhat a while back, but lost my data. My recollection was that while the velocity (and noise) decreased significantly, I wasn’t getting a huge number of shots. Certainly nothing close to the Huma numbers. Might have to put the original reg back in and see. But based purely on reg...

Huma Lelya 12 FT/LBS tuning regulator first impressions

Chronograph was rubber banded under the barrel, and the target was 3-4 feet away.

Huma Lelya 12 FT/LBS tuning regulator first impressions

Definitely more quiet. As for barrel length, whatever the Lelya’s stock length is. It’s not like the Leshiy with interchangeable or longer barrels.

Huma Lelya 12 FT/LBS tuning regulator first impressions

So, I’ve just got done playing around with the new Huma 12 ftlbs tuning regulator for the Lelya. Take these results with a pinch of salt, these are first impressions only. Caveats: 1. I was using an FX chrony, at very close distances (3-4 feet), and my experience is that the FX is somewhat...

Muzzling the Leshiy - A Silencer Story

I have a couple of apologies to make. First is to STO for taking so long to actually write up my impressions of his work. Second is to all the folks following this thread, wondering "right, but how is it *really*?" To STO - thank you. You are a gentleman and a scholar. I'm humbled by how much...

Muzzling the Leshiy - A Silencer Story

279 to 115 is a staggeringly impressive reduction, especially in this form factor. I’d imagine (or hope at least) that the reduction is even more prominent at lower power levels. Although as your work shows, there’s rarely a linear relationship. Fingers crossed though!

Muzzling the Leshiy - A Silencer Story

Interesting. Thanks for the thoughts. Seems to be a reasonably effective design. Works very well on my Impact interestingly. At least subjectively :o)

Muzzling the Leshiy - A Silencer Story

Interestingly my AAC Prodigy has a directional change, or so it seems. Thoughts on why?

Subscribing ;-) Keep going STO. I have faith. The learning here is great, which after all, is the whole point of experimentation.

I MIGHT HAVE TO HUNT TO PUT FOOD ON TABLE

If you’re so desperate to have to hunt to put food on the table, sell your fancy PCP, buy a cheap .22LR and go for it. Personally I don’t believe things are so bad in any state where a government shutdown forces anyone to hunt to feed their family to stay alive.

Help needed regarding carrying airguns from Seattle to NY and then out of US

As spysir says, I wouldn't go anywhere near NJ. Without a permit, you're committing a felony. Read "Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs v. Port Authority of New York and New Jersey" for a cautionary tale. The TSA is the least of your worries,

    New toys for my Impact

Subjectively its much quieter and a very different sound. Objectively? Not sure. My DB meter is a typical consumer one, so not especially accurate. I'll take some comparison readings and post.
