Spent a breezy Sunday afternoon doing one of my favorite summer pastimes, plinking paintballs with springers off a bucket & sticks. I was able to shoot my FWB 124, Beeman R9 & HW 50 for a few hours until the wind really picked up and started blowing the paintballs off the golf tees.

Agreed. That picture is definitely of an Airsporter as it's a tap loader. The Meteor was a lower cost break barrel offering from BSA.

From the shape of the end cap, it looks like a BSA Mercury to me. 

I have the .22 version of the QB78 and it shoots RWS Superdomes very accurately. 

Does the issue exist when using iron sights?

RWS Superdomes shoot the most accurate in my .22.

T R Robb in the UK sells a variety of tuning items for the QB series. Excellent quality and they ship through the mail so shipping costs aren't too outrageous.

I have been using a couple of them for years now, one on a Marauder and one on a FWB 124. Nice glass, solid construction and turrets track very reliably.

Might be a stupid question, but have you tried a variety of pellets through it? My .22 QB78 is a one hole gun at 10 yards with RWS Superdomes. Groups dramatically vary with other types of pellets.

I bought a seal kit from Baker Airguns a few years back for mine which has the same end cap as yours does. Might give them a try. The 600 is a great shooting pistol. The only issue is they can be a bit fussy about feeding pellets. Wadcutters seem to work the best for me.
