Diana Let's see your Giss guns.

I don’t want to sound like a know it all, and I hope I don‘t come across as such, but I’m pretty sure that what’s numbered 5 and referenced as the red bumper on the face of the rear piston is mislabeled. In fact, the rear piston doesn’t project out that far because of the spacer placed at the...

Beeman Repair video for Diana 6 recoilless air pistol

I'm with you. The use of those pliers did nothing but show me that the guy working on that gun was a ham-handed hack. There's no need to bugger up those caps with such brute force methods. One of the first things I look for when examining one of the Diana Giss pistols is whether or not the...

American Air Arms American air arms .22 hps

I have one and shoot 25.4 grain pellets almost exclusively. The .22 pellets work pretty well for me at 50 meters, though they do seem to be buffeted about by the wind if I try to shoot much farther than that. But part of it is that I simply haven’t tried very hard at greater distances.

    Hello from highly restricted California!

I wish you'd stop promoting this nonsense. As bad as California is regarding firearms laws, there has never been anywhere within the state that has demanded that a certain type of firearm be turned in within 30 days. It simply isn't true. It's entirely possible that you may have misread a...

    AEA Insane pump-action PCP

I think it’s cute that you think self regulation is the answer to preventing tyrannical state governments from enacting controls on airguns. Though you are correct in your assertion that more power will beget more regulation, understand this, the people in government who do such things hate all...

Steyr no longer sold in the USA?

That’s a nice rifle, but based on what many who post on this site say about Edgun’s lack of customer service, I’d be hesitant to buy anything from them. And that’s not just hearsay. My brother bought a Matador, and shortly after the sale had a question about some little glitch. Edgun West’s...

    Lead free pest control.

Lead pollution is a huge problem? I don’t think so. I oftentimes shoot in my backyard and will shoot into a target butt that collects the lead pellets, but I would never bother doing such a thing if I were out in the “wide, wild world”. I’ve been handling lead pellets and casting bullets for...

    International Air Pistol shooting

There are a few options for targets. I found a guy on the target talk forum who sells them, but shipping is astronomical. I don't have a link, but he’s easy enough to find. Neal Stepp at ISS (International Shooter’s Service) has targets that are similar to Kruger, but not marked as such. Also...

    International Air Pistol shooting

Talk about rabbit holes… The great thing about 10 meter shooting is that one can almost always come up with an area that will allow for the appropriate distance. I think 10 meter shooting easily ranks as one of the most difficult of the shooting disciplines and it takes a great deal of practice...

    N/A Brass barrels

I believe Beeman marketed those as “all weather”, but the finish was just a coating as opposed to actual stainless steel.

    FX FX Impact Re-seal Question

Keep at it, use a strong sharp curved pick, and you’ll get the darned thing out. It can be frustrating, but it’s nothing you can’t accomplish with persistence.

Other What would you buy as a intro setup to using a break barrel?

With a budget of $500 and a goal to plink a bit at home, you will be well served with an R7. And should you want to shoot some rabbits or squirrels sometime in the future, the R7 will handle it with aplomb.

I keep the lead and use it to cast round balls and minie balls for my muzzle loading firearms.

    Golf Balls

It’s never a good idea to shoot at golf balls with an airgun. I learned, as did the OP, that those pellets come back with a ferocity you would never expect.

    Which one are you choosing?

I agree wholeheartedly. The fake worn out look, at least to me, appears to be nothing more than someone ruining a nice paint job with abrasive paper. It’s obviously fake and serves no purpose other than to lower the value of an item.
