Yes posibly an oversight, or as a mate of mine just pointed out, mayby down to me not screwing on the crown screw tight enough in the first place.... ? and leaving a little play for the lead to get through,,, have ordered another hope its a one off or things will get expensive

Any way found a solution to the problem, simple case of cost, Die = £300 / Crown = £70. Took the grinder to the crown, and found a film of lead between the two die pieces, which im assuming put preassure on the crown screw.
