Call me whatever, but if anyone asks to shoot my Crow Magnum, I will break the barrel, load the pellet and hand the rifle like he is a new shooter, pointing to a safe direction. Some folks I know treat air guns as if they are toys.
I agree on the samples giving a ballpark. Those in the target/competition world, I think, would be going the route of the benchrest shooters and buy/swage the most consistent pellets/slugs for their use.
Just for Info: there used to be a site called "Straight Shooters" (folks that were running the place have since retired) had pellet samplers for .177 and .22
Update: Replaced the "transfer hose" and holding 100 bar of air. Will monitor and if pressure holds up at 250 bar, I will consider this problem solved.
I believe the problem started with removing under pressure. My theory, the aluminum threads "stretched" when removed. A few times of remove/replace eventually caused results. I should note - tube was a little loose when I was threading it back on. Should have stopped at that point. Lesson learned.
First trouble happened when I was trying to fix a leak. I removed the "tank" with some pressure still in the tank. Fast forward to Monday and I really did it. I'll get photos and post later.
Just an update for those who may still be interested, I got the replacement hose from Tony at Talon Tunes. Modified a 14mm wrench. My tank is being tested and will be filled. As soon as I get all things in line, I hope to get this going.
I was wondering about the conversion because I messed up the tank/regulator assembly (could NOT leave well enough alone) so I am looking to replace the assembly. Hope I can get the factory replacement.
Did more research: I found I may need to get my bottle pressure to a higher level. The valve may be open and need more pressure to get the valve to close.
Update: got a chance to tear into this and found there may be other issues regarding the leak. Where I thought the air was leaking from the hose, I just tried to locate the source of the leak and now hear air coming out of the barrel. Not sure if the hose is really the problem. Need to determine...
I read about the extra hose in a previous thread when I did a search. The air is leaking at the end that connects to the "bottle side", opposite end of the hose shown in post by bchannell above. My research shows that I may have to remove the barrel to access the connection. What I need is some...
