I had a similar problem but found out I was not pulling the bolt back far enough. It will stop a certain point and then you have to manhandle it back more to get it to cock. That part has gotten easier as the gun has broken in with use.

I am getting ready to order a new gun and I have a choice with the stock. Is there an advantage/disadvantage with a thumb hole as opposed to a regular stock? I plan on using this gun for FT and bench matches. Would appreciate your thoughts and reasoning.
